Game 1 ~ Peter Hunt from New Zealand won his opening match against Australia's Tony David (Tournament Rank No 6). Peter was certainly showing some great form, hitting maximums in both of the opening legs. Even though Tony won the first 2 legs the tide turned in favour of the Kiwi in game 3, Peter opening with a 140 to Tony's 42...Capitalizing on Tony's throw Peter came back with another 140. the scores slumped a bit in the middle of the leg, but Tony found a 177 to leave himself a ton. Game 2 ~ We continue watching the talents of Peter Hunt from New Zealand, Peter was next up against the "Matchstick" Peter opened the match with a ton and followed it up with another 2 tons and a 105, struggling with his doubles, Co Stompe took advantage and sealed the leg. Peter come back to take the next leg. Stompe found some much needed form to secure the next 2 legs bringing to 3-1 in favour of the Dutchman. Leg 5 was certainly a great game for the Kiwi, open with a modest 55, Peter followed up with 100,100,140 and sealed the game with a 106 peg. The match was now at 3-2 to the Dutchman. Stompe pushed forward in leg 6 with a 100,135,44,140 missing the 82 peg and leaving 10, Peter came back with a 177 to leave 38 but Stompe' pegged out. The match was now at 4-2. Leg 7, is a leg both players would want to forget. Scoring high in the early part of the leg and Peter hitting a maximum 180 but both players had double trouble and numerous shots to seal the leg. Peter finally taking the leg pegging 4. Now the match was a 4-3 and set for climatic finish, Stompe took leg 8, Peter leg 9. The match was now at 5-4. Stompe only needing one more leg to seal the match. Peter was now applying the pressure and took the next leg to make it 5 all. Both players went into the final leg a bit shaky. Peter finally sealed the match 6-5. Round 2 Peter is in Group K along with Mervyn King (England), Vincent van der Voort (Netherlands) and Martin Adams (England). Game 1 Peter Hunt from New Zealand was no match for Mervyn King, Mervyn winning 7 - 1. Peter is in group K along with England Captain Martin Adams and Vincent van der voort Game 2 No luck for Peter Hunt from New Zealand. Peter was thumped by England Captain Martin Adams 7 - 0 . 2 out of 2 losses for the Kiwi will mean he will miss the cut into the last round. Game 3 Even though Peter Hunt is out of the event he still had one more match to play, this was against Vincent van der Voort from the Netherlands.
